UFC acquires ‘assets’ from WFA

That's right, according to a statement on UFC.com, the organization has acquired "select" assets from the World Fighting Alliance (WFA).
And, as part of the agreement, the WFA will "cease all operations."
Talk about a talent grab, while squelching the "competition."
Clearly, the UFC only wanted the contractual rights to WFA fighters.
That's because the WFA had – and the UFC apparently now has – some of the top MMA fighters in the world.
We're talking about studs like Matt Lindland, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, Ivan Salaverry, Lyoto Machida and others now wearing UFC jerseys.
Of course, financial details of the agreement were not provided. But, if the UFC picked up the contracts of the above fighters it would be a boon for fans and the UFC regardless of the cost.
Just too bad the WFA didn't have any decent heavyweights other than Heath Herring.
The UFC in 2007 just got even more interesting.
We'll keep you posted on this breaking news when more information becomes available.
