I grew up with Jens in Washington state. I’d put all my money on the “pulverizer”

even though pulver beat up BJ in there last fight years ago…… BJ has progressed alot in the sport and i think BJ will overwelm pulver

Welcome Zach. I agree. I think Pulver was a great fighter, but too many wars in Pride. I hope this layoff tightens his game back up. But yeah, Jens v. BJ on free TV is freaking awesome.

Typically I never pick BJ to win (cuz my fiance loves him and we HAVE to pick opposing fighters), but after watching him fight Matt Hughes (he would have won if he hadn’t broke that rib or whatever injury he got during the fight) I don’t think Jens has a chance at all. I grew up in WA as well and always routed for Lil Evil, but after watching his last fight, I’m afraid he’s lost his Mo-Jo.

Most are saying BJ over Jens. Neither one of them look overly impressive. There both coming off loses. The only thing you can argue is that BJ fought better competition, but point being is that he lost both fights. They should both participate in LWGP to earn some credibility again

After the year we are having who knows what’s gona happen…but i say BJ Penn in a full 3round unanimus decision…they both got too much heart to quit and it’s gona be a good fight to watch

Pulver has developed a button and I think BJ will push it.

I like pulver, but even though he’s winning the show……in the finale he’s gonna lose because BJ Penn is a threat to the welterweight, so BJ at 155 again is just scary.

dennis burke i think bj will wrap himself around pulver like a snake and crush him till his head pops

What is Jens thinking? Penn is going to beat him up so bad. He needs to pray that the ref. will help him fight this one. I mean the ref. needs to hold him while Jens hits him, but that might not even help.

I think it could go either way ya cant just write jens off exspecially with a left hook like that. Bj has amazing talent so i hope its a good fight.

This card is better than the 72 card just from the main event.

I’m through betting on BJ Penn fights. He should win…But there’s also a good chance he gasses in the pre-fight interview.

Roger Huerta just stated on myspace that his next fight will be on June 23…hhhmmm.
by Matthew on Jun 7, 2007 8:52 PM EDT reply actions
I can’t think of any one who could put up a fight against Huerta except Lauzon maybe.

I just hope Gabe Fatass fuckin’ Ruediger doesn’t make an appearance on the season finale.
I think they should have edited the credits and taking Gaybe, Marlon and Noah out. Just throw up a “technical difficulties” screen whenever their mugs are supposed to show.

This is a great card.
Jens vs. BJ is going to be a intriguing fight, is BJ going to try to stand up with Jens, or is he going to take him down and ground and pound him.
Has Jens ground game been better since he has been working with Matt Hughes and Pat Millitech?
Jens needs to push the pace, because BJ never has stamina he always wares out within 2 rounds, if Jens can push it to a round 3, he could knock out BJ.

this is how it goes. BJ is the perfect fighter except for one thing…. conditioning! he has great stand up and probably the best ground game in MMA. if he would just learn not to gas he would be unstoppable! they don’t call him “the prodigy” for nothing. Jens’ only chance is a lucky punch or taking advantage of BJ in the 3rd round when he’s gassed and can’t defend himself. trust me, i’ve been calling these fights for years and i’m almost NEVER wrong.

I agree that this card is so much better than UFC 72 card.
UFC 73 Stacked is def going to be worth the $45

Jens Pulver is simply nowhere near the talent level of Hughes & St.Pierre. BJ had a split decision loss with St.Pierre and was DOMINATING Hughes until he hurt himself. DOMINATING. If BJ wanted to he could try again & have a decent shot at the welterweight title.
Jens is good & in the middle of the top of the lightweight division. But honestly does anyone in the lightweight division compare to BJ? The answer is a big NO!
by Kevy B on Jun 21, 2007 4:11 AM EDT reply actions
they need to stock up this division. its lacking in talent. but how effective will bj be at this weight.
