Former The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 2 heavyweight finalist Brad Imes, who was scheduled to fight Antoni Hardonk at UFC 65: "Bad Intentions" on November 18, has been mysteriously replaced by Sherman Pendergarst (7-3), according to UFC.com.
There is no official word as to the reason behind the switch, or whether or not "The Hillbilly Heartthrob" sustained – or re-aggravated – an injury during training.
(Quick random question: Which nickname is worse, "The Hillbilly Heartthrob" or "The Boogeyman?" Still trying to figure that out.)
Pendergarst is no stranger to UFC-level competition, with a recent victory over UFC veteran Aaron Brink and sustaining losses to Justin Eilers, as well as current heavyweight UFC contender Carmelo Marrero.
We'll get back to you with more on Imes when we come across something more official.
